Thank You Note: For Inspiration From the Blogosphere

November 2, 2010

Dear Grief Bloggers,

The Internet can be a place filled with vicious vitriol, frightening misinformation and the kind of vindictiveness that can ruin a person’s life. I’m grateful to have a found a softer side of the online world, where support for fellow human beings abounds and kindness and compassion reign supreme.

I’m not thankful for the events that necessitated them, but I am thankful for your many blogs that poignantly, painfully, irreverently bear witness to the grief that accompanies the loss of a child or spouse, the heartbreak of infertility, the challenges of raising a son or a daughter with special needs. You display incredible insight and vulnerability and resilience while acknowledging their deep, deep sadness. My perspective on grief has widened and deepened because of authors who artfully use their forums to express and to relate and to teach.

Thank you for being my teachers.
